FAQ
What's the difference between RCM and SAA?
SAA covers electrical safety only. RCM is the combined mark covering safety + EMC. Selling in Australia requires both. The RCM registration must be done by an Australian-based Responsible Supplier with an ABN.
Can a Chinese factory apply for RCM directly?
No. RCM registration requires an Australian entity with an ABN as the Responsible Supplier. However, product testing (safety + EMC) can be done at CNAS/ILAC-accredited labs in China, with reports submitted to the Australian party for registration.
What changed for LED products in 2025?
Luminous efficacy threshold raised from 100 lm/W to 110 lm/W. AS/NZS CISPR 15:2025 added UV/IR equipment to mandatory scope. Standby power ≤ 0.3W. RCM mark minimum size increased from 3 mm to 5 mm. Non-compliance = retailer rejection.
How is your report different from actual certification?
Our report is a pre-check — it tells you which pathway applies, what standards are relevant, and where your application is likely to get rejected. It does not replace a CAB-issued certificate. But using us first means you don't waste money on pre-assessment fees or 4–8 week delays.
Can you handle the certification for us?
No. We don't replace certifiers. But your pre-check report gives you leverage when negotiating with agents and CABs — you'll know exactly what to ask for and won't be upsold on unnecessary testing.
